Videos that I like, plus some of mine
Here is a short promo video I created for a client, Solar Gard®:
This was a good project for me, as I used Apple Motion 4 on a tight deadline (basically two days). Good practice!
A short piece exemplifying the importance of sound:
Directed by Gioacchino Petronicce.
My friends over at ShreddyTimes put together this great time-lapse piece with a message:
From Vimeo: On January 19th, Shreddy Times, Sticker Pack and Michelle Parker teamed up to help raise funds for Sarah Burkes family by selling “Believe In Sarah” and “Remember Sarah” stickers. Little did we know how big it would become.
What I wouldn’t give to take a ride on this crazy train:
3 bands, 6 cities, 1 train, and thousands of miles of track…BIG EASY EXPRESS captures an incredible musical journey. Harkening back to the days of jubilant railroad revivals, of steam and steel, three bands set out in April 2011 to tour America by vintage train. L.A.’s Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Nashville boys Old Crow Medicine Show, and Londoners Mumford & Sons climbed aboard amid the massive rail yards of Oakland and set out for New Orleans on a “tour of dreams.” Stopping along the way to play sold-out shows in spots as diverse as San Pedro, California, and Marfa, Texas, BIG EASY EXPRESS documents the bands’ vibrant railway adventures; the high canyons, joyous crowds, blasted skies, late-night laughter, endless music…and a train that was bound for glory.
Directed by Emmett Malloy
Very cool video created by Sebas & Clim: “We are starting the new year with some new projects, new goals and new challenges. Whatever you do, always try to be the best you can be. Spread the word and good luck.”
Yesterday Vimeo posted their video “The Winter X Games Experience.” At 3:42, my good friends Nick Visconti and Paul Heran are featured! Check it out!
Big shout out to Nick, who earned a Bronze X-Games medal in the Snowboard Street event!
I’ve attended several trade shows in my day with many more to come, I’m sure. When there, I always struggle with how to capture the event without showcasing how dull they can be sometimes. Joey Graziano’s video of the Agenda Trade Show is really well done:
The music by M83 certainly helps the cause. I’ll need to reference this video in the future.
July 19, 2011, professional snowboarder and my friend, Aaron Robinson, passed away while snowboarding in Chile. Aaron had been working on a snowboard movie, Manifest, with several friends and brother, Jason. The film by Sam Tour has been released, and it’s AWESOME!

Please feel free to share to spread the spirit of Aaron. A free download is also available on Vimeo.
I had the pleasure of riding with Aaron and Jason the summer of 2010; a time I will never forget. This feature on Jason Robinson was created for FuelTV and features the brothers shredding together:
SMASH LIFE!
Today is an important day, ultimately deciding the future of the internet. If you believe in a free, uncensored internet, take two-minutes out of your day to write your local state elected officials to oppose the “Protect IP” bill. Wikipedia has set-up a great tool to help you do this.
Feel free to copy and paste this quote from SOPAStrike.com:
I am writing to you as a voter in your district. I urge you to vote “no” on cloture for S. 968, the PROTECT IP Act, on Jan. 24th. The PROTECT IP Act is dangerous, ineffective, and short-sighted. It does not deserve floor consideration. I urge my representative to vote “no” on SOPA, the corresponding House bill.
Over coming days you’ll be hearing from the many businesses, advocacy organizations, and ordinary Americans who oppose this legislation because of the myriad ways in which it will stifle free speech and innovation. We hope you’ll take our concerns to heart and oppose this legislation by voting “no” on cloture.
